Dr. Tamara Wyse is a board certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship degrees. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a clinical instructor on the faculties of both Northwestern University Medical Center and the University of Chicago. She has been in practice on the North Shore since 1997, relocating to Northbrook in 2010. She attended medical school at the University of Illinois, where she was the valedictorian. She completed her residency at Northwestern University Medical Center, and then went on to more advanced training with a fellowship year in anterior segment surgery in Louisiana. This was followed by another fellowship year at Northwestern University to become a subspecialist in Glaucoma. Dr. Wyse is a highly skilled cataract surgeon and has performed thousands of cataract surgeries. She uses a variety of lens implant options including multifocal, accommodating, and toric (astigmatism correcting) lens implants to help patients achieve greater independence from glasses. She is skilled in the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
Dr. Wyse is committed to providing state-of-the-art care, and frequently attends meetings to be able to provide the best advances in care to her patients. Our practice is fully equipped with advanced technology to diagnose and monitor glaucoma and other eye diseases. Dr. Wyse feels it is equally important, however, to communicate with patients so that they can fully understand their eye issues, treatment options, and preventive care strategies. She takes the time to get to know her patients and understand their concerns.
Dr. Wyse is a native of the North Shore. She and her husband, Joseph Wyse M.D., continue to live in the area with their son and daughter.
Dr. Christine Martinson-Zeifert is a board certified optometrist who graduated cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2010, and is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and Tomb & Key Honor societies. She received her bachelor of arts in biology from Augustana College in 2006. Dr. Martinson-Zeifert completed her advanced care rotations at the Brooklyn VA hospital in New York and Gottlieb Eye Center in Melrose Park, Illinois. She also completed a specialty contact lens rotation at Lossman Eye Care in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
Dr. Martinson-Zeifert specializes in primary care, contact lenses, and pediatric vision. She is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association, and is also a provider for the InfantSEE program. InfantSEE is a program that provides a comprehensive eye exam to any child up to one year of age at no cost, in order to promote eye heath and ensure proper eye development. She is also a member of VOSH, volunteer optometric service to humanity, which provides eye care to people worldwide.
She is adept at contact lens fittings, including soft and gas permeable lenses, monovision, multifocal, and bifocal lenses. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of care patients, and truly enjoys her profession. Her hobbies include running, basketball, and traveling. Dr. Martinson-Zeifert is from the northern suburbs of Chicago, and currently lives in the area with her husband.
